Editorial policy
Local Connection aims to make local civic life easier to understand through accurate, clearly framed editorial work. We separate explanation from opinion and correct the record when something is wrong.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against suitable material available to us, use precise wording and provide context that changes how a claim should be understood. We do not present a general explanation as a statement of current rules in every place. Where information may vary or change, we say so and encourage readers to check with the relevant public body before relying on it.
Independence and disclosure
Editorial decisions belong to Local Connection. Commercial relationships do not buy favourable coverage or control over editorial conclusions. Any sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work.
Corrections and updates
If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests, amend confirmed errors and make significant changes clear to readers. We may update material when information changes; we do not silently preserve a claim we know to be inaccurate.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. They are visual aids, not documentary evidence, and are presented in a way that does not imply they record a real local event or place.
